Not to be confused with the Buddhist Brahma whose name was borrowed from Hinduism but whose god has nothing in common with the Hindu god. In Hinduism, Brahma is a member of a Trinity called Trimurti, the other two members being Vishnu "the preserver" and Shiva "the destroyer." Brahma is also called Nabhija "navel-born" and Kanja "water-born."
